Once upon a time there was a princess, and her name was Kate Louise. She lived in a castle with her parents but was starting to get a little bit restless of playing by herself a lot of the time. Her parents responded to their daughter’s wish and granted her a little sister. Kate Louise was very fond of her sister but she was only allowed in Kates room at 9.14 in the morning. You see, Kate had a busy schedule of royal appointments and could not waste her whole childhood away by playing all day long. As Princess Kate Louise got older she grew more and more fond of animals. She decided early that she wanted to study the anatomy of all animals so that she could be of better help to them.
As all royals would have it, Kate Louise decided to try her wings and work in England. England was a convenient location for a Princess with lots of palaces, royal gardens and sick animals. Just a few months before she was due to leave she was invited to a party one evening, and as you all guessed, got introduced to a handsome young Prince called Ian. Ian was adventurous and brave and Kate started to have feelings for the charming Prince. As the weeks went by, Kate’s feelings grew stronger and stronger and every time she thought of him her eyes would sparkle like the night sky. It wasn’t long until they were declared as an official couple. When it was time to leave, the Prince decided follow his Kate Louise to England. He just couldn’t live with the idea of Kate being so close to the British Royal family. They had after all not one but two eligible bachelors, that could potentially threaten his chances.
Kate and Ian were like peas and carrots. Ian’s hunger for adventure soon rubbed off on the Princess and they ignited a mutual love for travel and exploring new places, culture and food. Kate and Ian eventually returned to Brisbane and found themselves an apartment in a very picturesque inner suburb of Brisbane. The local grocers became their backyard and their love grew stronger with every bite of local delicacy they tasted. Ian eventually proposed to Kate Louise and they were soon to be married. They picked a date very close to their hearts, and the locations for the ceremony, photos and reception were all in and around the spots where their love had grown. The week before their big day, a cyclone swept through Brisbane but there was no signs of it on the actual wedding day. The weather gods must have known that there was no point messing with this couple, they are not the worrying kind. Finally the day arrived and the city was bursting with love. Everything turned out more perfect than they could have ever imagined. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and the aunts and uncles were crying. In the middle of it all was Kate and Ian, with eyes only for each other. It was a euphoric celebration of love.
This text was based on Kate’s father’s speech to the his daughter and her new husband on their wedding day. I was crying with laugher behind the camera but managed to snap up a few details of the story to share with you.
