Every summer for the past few years I have taken my kids home. It has become our sanctuary, our place to recharge and just be. It’s a place where we are no longer on our own and we can breathe out for a moment. Even though my kids have grown up in Australia, they still have a very special connection to this land. They feel like this is their real home for many reasons, not only because of family. It’s almost like they have lived here before.
We got to borrow these outfits for this shoot from my friends mum, who has been collecting for decades. Some pieces are over a hundred years old! Such a gift to have access to such amazing pieces of history, we definitely felt the energy. This evening was a great reminder that what a child needs today isn’t that different from a hundred years ago… I hope this will inspire you to go outside more, leave your shoes behind, run, get dirty and have fun.
